Follow-up from meeting on June 23, 2018

1.     Use of ASEAN requires some formality so for now the group is the (South East) Asian Commission on Optics and Photonics (ACOP).
2.     Currently there are the following Optics/Photonics Societies. Optics and Photonics Society of Singapore (OPSS), Indonesian Optical Society (InOS), Thailand Optics and Photonics Society (TOPS); Optical Society of Malaysia (OSM).
3.     Since the Optics and Photonics community is small in most countries and are under the umbrella of the Physics Society or Electrical Engg. Society, we hope you can form a sub-set for Optics and Photonics, if you are not keen to start a separate Optics and Photonics Society. Vietnam is exploring this possibility.
4.     To provide communication to members in each ASEAN country, we need the names and contact details of two (2) representative persons from each country.
5.     Constitution is also attached. Please check it and suggest changes if any. We need to be formal if we wish to get ASEAN label in future.
6.     Proposal to have first ACOP conference in Thailand (possibly Phuket) in 2019 which is combination of the icOPEN2019 (OPSS) and ICPS (TOPS). Other societies would be supporting organization.
7.     Next ACOP meeting to be held at the above event to discuss and get bids for ACOP2020.
8.     You can provide a link to the ACOP website which is currently housed at www.opssg.org/op-asean
