The Job:
The Senior Manager (Design & Development) will lead the Design & Development team consisting of
Optical Designers, Opto-Mechanical Designers and Test Engineers to perform the following tasks:
1) Support Sales & Marketing to understand new business and product requirements.
2) Provide inputs for RFQs and prepare technical proposals.
3) Manage technical contents for build-to-print businesses.
4) Manage design solutions for customized design businesses.
5) Create specifications for new products together with customers.
6) Interface with Quality function to ensure requirements are well defined for qualifications.
7) Develop Technology Roadmap together with the Process Engineering function.
8) Interact with other Qioptiq business units to promote cooperative technology, design and engineering
activities.
9) Train and upgrade knowledge and skills of designers and engineers.
10) Support Export Compliance with PDM system.
11) Report to Head Office on Intellectual Property development.
The Requirements:
1) Bachelor’s degree in Optics/Optical Engineering/Physics is preferred.
2) Post-Graduate degree in Optical Design/Optical Engineering an advantage.
3) More than 10 years of relevant working experience with a good understanding of Optical Design
Principles (theory & practical).
