Electron Beam AND Laser Beam Welding...Together!

posted Jan 27, 2011, 7:20 PM by Anand Asundi   [ updated Feb 13, 2011, 4:28 AM ]

Proponents of laser beam welding (LBW) and electron beam (EBW) welding each pronounce the singular praises of their favored technology, but in many cases the best solution for a customer is actually to use the technologies together. This is especially true for fusing together complex geometries and meeting the demands for superior metallurgy..... read more in attachment

Evening with Eugene Arthurs, CEO , SPIE

posted Dec 10, 2010, 4:04 AM by Anand Asundi   [ updated Jan 27, 2011, 7:27 PM ]

Eugene Arthurs, Executive Director of SPIE visited Singapore for two days, Dec. 6-7, 2010. Optics & Photonics Society of Singapore held a welcome party for him and it took place in Jurong Country Club in the evening of December 7, 2010.

The party started with a welcome speech delivered by Dr. Anand Asundi in behalf of OPSS. OPSS was formerly an SPIE chapter in Singapore which eventually transformed into OPSS and getting more involvement in Photonics Industrial companies here in Singapore.

Also, Mr. Eugene Arthurs did his share of talking about the SPIE vision and emphasized the SPIE’s support to Singapore Optics and Photonics Industry.

So both societies reaffirmed their key focus to Photonics industry and looking forward for long term collaboration.
