The Wave Optics Module in COMSOL
provides dedicated tools for electromagnetic wave propagation in linear and
nonlinear optical media for accurate component simulation and optical design
optimization. With this module you can model high-frequency electromagnetic
wave simulations in either frequency- or time-domain in optical structures. It
is straightforward to simulate optical sensors, metamaterials, optical fibers,
bidirectional couplers, plasmonic devices, nonlinear optical processes in
photonics, and laser beam propagation. We have one license of COMSOL in our
School.
Program
2.00 pm – 3.00 pm An overview of COMSOL
Multiphysics · Discover the
software's capabilities, functionalities, and features · Learn the
fundamental modeling steps needed to simulate your applications · Examine the
graphical user interface and its Model Builder, allowing you to efficiently
modify and adapt your models · Experience
the speed and ease of the work flow, shown through a multiphysics simulation
example 3.00 pm – 3.15 pm Break 3.15 pm – 5.00 pm Hands-on session · Learn about
the capabilities of COMSOL within your application area, Wave Optics module
will be introduced. · Set up and
solve your first simulation through two hands-on exercises, one is Plasmonic
wire grating, the other is Nanorods · Get your
two-week free trial and work on your own simulations helped by the COMSOL
